Itinerary
Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Ouarzazate
Start your adventure with breakfast and departure for Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Great South, via Taroudant. Explore Taroudant, one of Morocco’s oldest cities, and admire the craftsmanship in the souk. Continue to Ouarzazate, arriving in time for lunch. Visit the city at the confluence of the Draa and Dades valleys, and tour the kasbah of Taourirt with a photo stop at Tiffoultout. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Tinghir – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, depart for Tinghir, stopping to visit the kasbah Amridil in the Skoura palm grove. Continue through the Rose Valley and Dades Valley, reaching Tinghir for lunch and a walk in the Toudra palm grove. Travel to Erfoud via Tinejdad, visiting several Berber villages and the Erfoud marble fossils. Head to the impressive Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Swap your 4×4 for a camel to watch the sunset over the dunes, then spend the night in a nomadic tent under the starry desert sky. Dinner and overnight at the desert camp.
Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Zagora
Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the dunes. Return to the hostel by camel for breakfast and a shower. Depart for Zagora, passing through Rissani, Alnif, Tazarine, and N’kob. Continue through the Tafilalet palm grove and Draa Valley. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Zagora.
Day 4: Zagora – Agdz – Ouarzazate
In the morning, journey to Tansikhte and the Draa Valley, discovering small villages and magnificent kasbahs in the Agdz palm grove. Continue to Ouarzazate, crossing the Anti-Atlas mountains via the Tizi n Tinififft pass (1660m). Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Depart in the morning for Ait Ben Haddou to visit one of Morocco’s most magnificent kasbahs, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Follow the Ounila Valley to the Kasbah Telouet. In the afternoon, continue to Marrakech via the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260m), passing several Berber villages. Overnight at a hotel in Marrakech.
Day 6: Marrakech Sightseeing
Take a guided city tour of Marrakech. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Medina, Ali Ben Youssef Koranic School, Saadian tombs, Bahia Palace, and Majorelle Gardens. Explore the medina and the main square in the evening.
Day 7: Marrakech – Essaouira
In the morning,you will depart for Essaouira, a charming port city. Discover Essaouira’s old fishing port and craftsmanship on the way you will stop to whatch the goats on the trees and the coaporative for argan oil.
Day 8: Essaouira – Agadir
